Malc, real nice to meet you and your good lady.

Not a lot of guys have a wife that they can drag around a motorcycle show. ;)

Chris took some pics of the Honda 6 on George Beals stand, will have to find out how to post them.

Did you get to see the 250 Yamaha 4 cyl in the TZ frame?

No but I have seen it before.

There was a factory 250 V4 in the hall, I was going to take a look but forgot.

It didn't worry me, it was only a Yamaha ;D ;D ;D

It was his 1964 (I think) 250, last of its kind, being auctioned off last w/e. Reserve was estimated at 375,000 pounds.

As a point of interest, I rode in a race at Mallory Park in which Jim Redman and Tom Phillis were riding these 250 Fours. Needless to say I saw them on the grid and back in the pits after the race but during the race they were GONE.

yes that is the standard TD & TZ Yamaha 250/350 seat from the early 70's as is the rest of the bike only thing different is the 4cyl 4 stroke engine instead of 2 cyl 2 stroke.

Well Nick, now you have your answer thanks to Steve and co.

I knew that there was one in Ireland in the hands of Luke Lawler but didn't know whoes Bike It was.
Whats more surprising is, over the last 7 or 8 years, I have got to know Jim quite well but didn't know that he owned the bike.

Thanks for that, Sam. Can't get in though! But lucky you to have met Jim.

I'm interested that the bike didn't meet reserve. Even at 375,000 pounds it is a priceless piece of '60s racing history. Ah, for a lottery win.............. It would look good just there, by the stereo, in the living room. Might be a struggle to get it up the stairs, but what the hell!
