Where can I get OEM style spoke nipples?
« on: July 07, 2015, 06:37:06 AM »
As I've re-laced my wheels, I noticed that a lot of my nipples are slightly rounded or just really terrible looking around the edges. I powder-coated all of my spokes. On my previous build I powder-coated the nipples as well, but these I wanted a natural look. Does Buchanan or any other company sell nipples alone that will fit oem spokes? Preferably zinc coated? Thanks!

Just get the Buchanons Stainless Steel Spoke Kit. You go thru all the trouble of relacing for what, junk nipples? Why would you relace a wheel with new spokes and old nipples VS new spokes and new nipples? If  you are going to rebuild a wheel, rebuild it! New spokes, bearings, and maybe new rims if they look like sheet. Then, you can walk away from it knowing you are good for a long while.

Didn't you read the part about how i powder-coated all of my "original" spokes to match the bike? Also, the part where this isn't my first rodeo. I just want zinc plated nipples, is that so much to ask?

I know i was bummed! Idk I'll probably source a stop set of spokes and nipples and then buy a home zinc plating kit. I mean what else can I do?
