Moving ignition switch on 1973 CB500
« on: July 07, 2015, 10:46:16 AM »
Hi:
My CB500 has the ignition switch(for which I do not have the key) mounted between the gauges. The previous owner spliced in that switch with speaker wire????

I have purchased a new "EMGLO" switch, but of course the wires are too short.

Ideally I would like to purchase a  "ready-made"  extension wire with male/female 4 position connectors so I can neatly mount the new switch between the gauges as well.

My other alternative is to fabricate the metal holder that puts the switch back in its original position.

Any suggestions on obtaining either the extension wire or the metal holder?

Regards
John

My 72 CB500 came with the ignition mounted between the gauges also. I found an original mount at the local motorcycle junk yard and swapped it out. Rather than fabbing something up, you might be able to find an original somewhere.

Good luck!
