getting there with rc clubfoot

cool that you are getting one too,forgot that the other side was the important one !!haha,some playing around with brake side required,won"t be able to go much lower with exhaust,got some eye to eye shocks to try.billp

Time for a high pipe..  Then you can lower the motor 3 more inches..

Did you somehow convert that rigid arm into a pivot arm?? I see shocks on the bike still, instead of struts that the arm was designed for originally.

Is there movable bushings in the front?  Or just a hole?
 When I extended a stock arm, I used a. Non pivoting bushing up front.

there is just a threaded hole,yes the arm is designed for struts but where I live you have to have shocks on the bike to get it inspected so shocks will have to be on it for mvi then the struts go on,the bolt is just there to hold the bike up as I am experimenting with shocks,it may seem like I don't know what I am doing but I do the bike has been taken off the road this year to do the stuff I want to do.if I drove the bike this way the arm would pivot on the frame holes,would not last long.the other type of rc swingarm is best for the street,but it wont be going up and down when I am done.billp

Didn't mean to question your knowledge. It was more of trying to determine how you converted the arm to pivot so if i came across a club foot, i wouldn't have to re invent the wheel since you might already know how to modify the rigid into a pivot. Thanks for clarifying why you put them on. Dang inspections used to drive me nuts. Glad SC did away with them before i moved back home in 95'.

Hey Bill, slip some springs over the struts and make them look like shocks for the inspection.  ;) I put a fake VW motor in the back of my mid-engined V8 bus before getting it inspected when I transferred it to an AZ title, as the VIN # was inside the original engine bay.

haha scottly,you think like me,I was also looking at spring struts,but don't know much about them,all the law says is working suspension ,does not say how hard it has to be set up.this is not a cross country bike so some things are not as important to me,just that it is safe.funny that in the next province to me there are no mvis on bikes.you only have to have headlight taillight and brakelight.somrthing like blue turbos bike is what I hope it will be like.riding the ascot yet?bill

frank you could put bearings ,or bushings in the swingarm,but you would have to machine it to take then and depending what you do a longer than stock pivot bolt,if you were just racing and wanted shocks eye to eye shocks get you there as the swimgarm would not be moving as much as a streetbike,well greased bolts.bill

I would not mind being able to go to shocks for a long ride.. I could make it work somehow..don't need long travel..just a bit of give.
 No need to grease rear bolts, the sleeve should clamp firmly to arm, then the sleeve twists in the rubber that holds it in the eye..

I was talking about the front bolts that go through the frame Frank,steel on steel where they go through the frame,on the back if you have clevis shocks the clevis has to be narrow or wider to go over or into the channel for struts.mine will be convertible as well.bill

Bill, got a great idea here.. Make a hockey stick shaped alloy block .. The handle part will bolt to the swingarm shock mount using two holes. The part of the block going upward at the front will be the width of your clevis, and will have an oilite bushing in the hole... Or the stock rubber piece from the stock arm..
