clutch lifter plate remedy idea
« on: July 11, 2015, 11:03:19 PM »
Not quite sure how it would work, but hearing someone was looking into creating stronger pieces out of steel got me thinking. Would an external addition work just as well?  Maybe an X shape on either side of the lifter plate, with a ring to fit around the center area and welded into place?

Well, the cutaway of the clutch assembly suggests that there might be room on top of the lifter plate for something like this, however I don't know that I've heard of someone breaking one of these during actual operation, just due to assembly/disassembly problems.  So, I'm not sure how necessary it would be.

Me neither, but I assume it could be used to reinforce for anyone who is paranoid or to repair one that can't be repaired.  And with the part now being obsolete from Honda, I assume something like this would be cheaper insurance.
