Ko forks

After 45 years the forks started leaking.  This is where I am,  any advice.
1970 CB750 K0 (I can't believe I tossed my duck tail seat in the trash 30 years ago)

Any help as to why the K0 parts fiche is different to what I find inside?
I seem to have extra parts inside.

New seals and reassemble as they were. They worked before right?

Looks like fiche has newer version while your is the older one-

Any reason you did not take the forks off the bike? The KO seals come out real easy from the top and you then do not need to dismantle the lower end of the fork top to get them off.

Yep they were fine, I guess I was wondering about "that part" that always wears out that I don't know about and others may.


Any reason you did not take the forks off the bike? The KO seals come out real easy from the top and you then do not need to dismantle the lower end of the fork top to get them off.
Just seamed to be less to take off, doing it from the bottom.  I would have probably disassemble the bottom just to clean it up and make sure everything looked Ok.
Of course I don't really know what to look for.

Pay close attention to the stacking of the circlips between the brass bushing and the hard chrome bottom slider so they go back together in the same order..if you take them apart.  Check for pits in the chrome of the forks in the seal area, as this can cause leaking as well.

The good part I believe, is that if you make the bushings to fit the legs, you cannot get rid of excess wear..or most of it..
