Presently I have a set of reproduction hand controls for 73-75.  I will need to makes some changes to adapt them for use with my 1976 K.  I intend to replace the wiring harness as well and I got to thinking; which would be an easier modification:  adapting a 76 harness to work with the 75 controls, OR getting a 75 harness and adapting it to work with the 76 electrical system?  I have my suspicions but I would love to get some experienced insight!

I rewired my 70 with a new harness and wired temporary controls on my 76F when the start/headlight switch  was bad. Unless the 76 harness is in bad shape I'd leave it and adapt. I print out the color wiring diagram as big as I can and glue it to a piece of cardboard. Then hang it where I can see it while I work. Compare the 75 control wiring to the 76 to see the changes when you take it apart. What's the difference between them? 75 has headlight on/off on the right and  hi/low on the left? If so there's not much change.
