Loose bolt on front sprocket.

I seem to have a recurring problem with the bolt on the front drive sprocket, it loosens up by about 2 turns. Last night I took the bolt out and put blue locktite on the threads and tightened it to about 23 ft/lbs. Any other ideas?

Tighten it up to 30lbs or so.

Hellloooo,
I know this is a resurrection of a old post but i think its a relevant question....
So my front sprocket bolt came loose and cracked the outer case cover.
I need to get a new bolt because the old one is cashed. Anyone know what size and pitch that bolt is?
I have a 78 CB750F with the single bolt in the middle.
Also, shouldn't it have a lock washer on there? All that's on there now is a fender washer.
I didn't find the info in the factory manual either.
Thanks!

8x1.25mm and I measure about 16mm of thread. There should be a lock plus a large flat washer.

Weren't some of these sprockets designed to "float" giving the appearance of being loose?

Yes, the front sprocket has some play in many of these vintage bikes. Keep in mind Honda suggests Lock-Tite on the 2 smaller sprocket bolts.

I had the same problem before and no matter how tight I got the bolt, it would still walk out. Finally I put red loctite on the threads and it has stayed put ever since. Blue loctite should work for you, but if not, step up to the red.
