only 3 things to check, spark at the right time, fuel in the correct mixture and good compression...Larry

Thanks MoMo......compression I was told can't be checked until the thing runs long enough to seat the rings.

It ran real well, when I first fired it. But wouldn't idle on it's own.

Since then, I've played with the carb settings, and got it to idle on it's own, then started pizzing gas out the over flow.

Pulled the carb apart, doesn't pee no more, but won't run at all now.

Pulled plug, blackened sooty. Cleaned plug, got spark at the point, barely runs.

Crap...........crap.

clear tube test your fuel level, and adjust the float to get the fuel level spot on.

^I was thinking the same thing.

Also, FWIW, LED bulbs in a 6v system isn't necessarily a good idea. For instance, use 'em in your turn signals and you'll find that they don't blink any more. This is because the regular 6v bulbs act as a load on the system, allowing the mechanical winker to wink. It's all a matter of balance.

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses.......119 degrees in the garage has forced me into the house and a/c.
