I quit.    Beautiful work.  I want to be a machinist when I grow up.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I've got my seat today. I first 3d printed the seat and than I sent it to a guy who made a mold from 3d printed seat. Printed version is in the middle. 3d print is dirty because of mold making material. Foam is some kind of polyurethane. I have several examples of seat to chose foam density for my butt :)

I've cut metal insert from ribbed aluminum sheet just for test fit... I will not use ribbed al... I don't like that look.

No way! I haven't seen it before. If his 3d print is based on CAD data, then we can benefit from it :)

Too bad the guy in the video cannot tell the difference between a CB500 and a CB750!  Cool nonetheless.

Finished printing light support structure. I need to to do some sanding on print... I am speeding up manufacturing of parts. I want to have a roller fast so I can concentrate on the engine.... Waiting for my seat to come back from upholstery guy...

Re: MessnerMoto - CB750 f2 Caferacer build - Primary chains question
« Reply #165 on: January 02, 2016, 02:12:10 PM »
Because I will upgrade the engine power I was digging about parts I will need. I see people are using HD primary chains and that people are really happy about those chains. In my search I come across this blog

http://www.breganzane.com/workshop/chains_primary.php it is about Laverda SOHC 750s...

Similar bike to cb750 and people there are using two IWIS G67HP simplex chains instead duplex and triplex chains because they say it is a better and stronger solution. Btw primary chains for cb750 are standard ISO/ANSI chains 3/8 x 7/32‘‘ but with thicker chain plates... This chain looks very similar to HD primary chains...
The best part is that there is an endless chain IWIS G67HP with 68 links for BMWs

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Steuerkette-SWAG-99-11-0345-/151400652918?hash=item23402ea076:g

the price is 30 eu per chain. Can be found cheaper...

Also I did more digging and I found specs for IWIS chains(IWIS is making only timing chains... German company... part of SWAg company)

http://www.iwis.de/uploads/tx_sbdownloader/iwis_Motorsysteme_Automotive_aftermarket_Ersatzteile_DE_EN.pdf

and there you can see there are even 2 better chains... First G68HPF2... again very similar specs like HD chains...
I only found this with 72 links... so it needs to be shorten 4 links....

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Steuerkette-SWAG-30-93-9962-/161555573484?hash=item259d766aec:g:XxAAAOSwmrlUsOv-
50eu... but can be found for 35eu....

And also there is this G68VH... stronger then previous 2(tensile strength) but smaller pin diameter.
http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/swag/7535305
around 50eu also....

Last two chains are for Audis...

My question is.. did anybody else came across this? Or did someone use this chains?

Actually yes. But then I would never finish :) . This build is starting to become my main job I need to restrict myself before it gets completely out of control.

.... But original frame... welds... stamped sheet metal on frame... it does look good I will say.. especially when I start putting my parts
