brake fluid reservoir on a cb350f
« on: July 21, 2015, 06:57:43 PM »
what is the best way to clean out the small hole in the brake fluid reservoir? I put the end of a dental pick into the larger hole and I can see it in the housing that holds master cylinder valve but I cannot put a small wire into the smaller hole which I think is the fluid return. The wire seems to enter part way but is then stopped. Should I be able to push a wire into this hole and see the end of it in the valve housing bore the way I can with the larger hole?

Yes. But it's a very small hole. I think the smallest guitar string may work? I have used a single wire from a wire brush to poke through the crud blocking one. There's really no pressure through the hole so stuff will build up and stop relief flow.

Try compressed air. Flush it out through where the little piston enters and put a finger over the outtake where the hose attaches. Also try not to put anything like an o-ring pick in it or anything that can possibly widen the little hole. The housing is cast aluminum so anything metal can damage it.  wooden tooth picks work best with picking at aluminum

actuate the break lever.  it has to open for fluid to return.
