It still needs final machining, fitting, and it will be [hopefully] quite a bit shorter in height...

But it looks pretty good so far!  ;)

Well that's my opinion too Jim, it's a silly price and I doubt that anyone would buy it! Of course, if someone offered me that kinda dough, I'd take it though, ha ha! Have you got your bike running with the ARD yet? I'm dying to find out how it goes! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Rich I have you belt box competed and will be sent out Monday morning
Everything went well with the welding. Plenty of metal to take off.......:)

Terry I haven't had a chance to get it running yet but I did get the plug wires yesterday (Saturday)
and just need to get the degree wheel set up and get it timed.
Then get the fairing mounts welded up, decide which set to us (Dunstall or CR replica seats), mount new brackets for the rear sets, etc,etc,etc,etc
Then start on the 850 head for the GS with 34RS. new springs, guides, retainers, etc,etc,etc,etc

then start on the ported head for the 836............
kids soccer games, wife wants me to mop the floor
truck needs an oil change

JEEZ

having a family is such fun with all the projects................

I just went to the automotive parts store and bought 7mm wires
not sure if there solid core or not
is one better than the other?

to get optimal spark with a mag,especially at kicking rpm,you should use a metallic core wire and a non resistor plug if possible.

It's been slotted into the "to do" line, just behind the CB450 sprocket/chain replacement...   ::)

Something for you guys to ponder
Here is a bracket that I welded for a member
for his idle adjustment for CR carbs.
You don't have to raise the tank and get out the long screw driver anymore
Just use a ZX12 idle adjustment Assembly and you can adjust your idle at the next stop sign

neat huh

Ooh Ooh, I want one! I haven't refitted the tank on the K1 yet because I fitted my new 29mm CR's and then thought, "How the Hell do I adjust the idle when it's hot?" so your bracket is a revelation! I guess I could make one in steel, but your alloy one does look very trick! Don't send me one though, I'll wait for that air ticket and just collect it in person, ha ha! ;D

Hey Terry

All this guy did was go to your home fix it store and by some
3/4 inch by 1/8 inch aluminum and used a hack saw to cut the pieces
the drilled 2 holes the same width as the rack on the back side of the carbs
the drill a hole for the adjustment cable to just slide in to
I laser welded all the seams closed so its more than strong enough
plus there is no pressure on it.
Use a ZX12 idle cable and BINGO

Here is a close-up. I spent about $4 for a 3 foot piece.

The remote is actually from a ZRX1100/1200 and designed to handle 4 carbs. You'll have to cut the threaded portion of it off and then cut the CR set-screw so you're just adding the threads and spring plate to the flexible cable. Jim could handle both. He could modify the remote cable and CR screw, make the bracket and send out as a package.
