What worked for me with my K6 was to hold the carbs up against the insulators and make sure the tops of the insulators were touching all 4 carbs. Then it was a matter of just angling the carbs up and getting the bottom of the carbs started into the insulators. Once the bottoms were in, I pulled the carbs up and into the top of the insulators. Also, I used NEW Honda insulators.
