Holiday ideas and tips California
« on: July 26, 2015, 03:05:26 AM »
I am considering a road trip with my 22yo son to LA and drive up route one along coast to San Francisco maybe include Las Vegas?

10-14 days maybe October.

Looking for ideas and  recommendations.

Would be nice to hire something interesting to drive (car), without breaking the bank!

Appreciate any tips.

Have booked flights to LA and planning to go to Vegas then up to SF and down PH1 back to LA.

Will be in Vegas for my birthday and would be interested in any hotel and eatery recommendations.

Thanks

Martin

I would re-recommend Ellis Island on Koval Lane just off the strip. They have two dining areas one classic café fare and the other  has ribs on the weekends.  Best deal on craft beers , too.

I like the Hard Rock in Vegas, they play good music in the casino.

The pool area is one of the best too....

I liked the surf motel in Carlsbad Ca. Not expensive, older but clean, across the street from the beach. The Peterson automotive museum in LA. the NHRA museum in Pomona. ARP's out there by the dry lake somewhere.

The adult Mandalay pool is pretty good, too.  Or, so I've heard . . .

Thanks, Cal, for umm, fixing that for me.  No, I have not seen it firsthand, but I HAVE seen pics so it did happen.

I don't know if they'd let me in at my age.  :o

Not long now as fly out on Sunday  8)

Have first night booked at hotel near Manhattan beach, Torrance.

Thinking about driving down to San Diego from there, then up to Las Vegas via Palm springs or San Bernadino?

Any further suggestions welcomed.

Thanks guys.
