From CT90 to DS6 to CB450 to Maxim to 1969 CB750K0
« on: July 26, 2015, 06:59:44 PM »
I have had a handful of jobs in the shop the past couple months(noted in title heading) but none as fantastic as this bike.  It belongs to a friend who has me do his maintenance, just wants it ready for the season so it'll be a routine tune and service.  The story behind this bike is incredible, only had two owners since purchased new at Eaton Cycles(at least that is my interpretation of what the owner said as to the shop name)  in the Pittsburgh area.  It was the first 750 into the shop, the original purchaser wanted to  the first 750 but the shop wanted to keep it for display so he bought it and the shop kept it until they had adequate inventory to sell.  He then took the bike home, kept it for a year or two and sold it to my fried for 900.  He rode it all over the country, countershaft and cases let loose when he was in Nevada so they boxed up the motor and had it repaired under Honda's warranty(I think I've done at least 6 to 10 case switches back in they day), got the motor back and continued his trek.  He then sold it back to the original owner, who kept it for quite a few years. He was dying so he called my friend and gave him the bike.  As you can see it has been meticulously maintained throughout the years both mechanically and cosmetically. Tank has been replaced twice, front rim, seat cover and front fender have also been replaced.

  Mileage is real...Larry

Only pirouette I could do at 68 would be to turn around in a circle(but then I'd probably get vertigo).

Yeah Bill, I had it for two stinking years,  couldn't bend over and get up without getting dizzy, couldn't roll over in bed without getting light-headed.  I think it came about as a result of my fifth concussion.  Larry
