1977 CB750A Carb issues
« on: July 23, 2015, 09:35:42 AM »
I purchased a couple non running cb750A's with different sets of carbs. One is a 77 and the other is a 76.  I am tackling the 77 first.  The carbs I am using are PD44A on the 77.  I completely took apart the carbs, put in rebuild kits and tried to get bike running.  Not much success yet.  I took the carbs back off and doing some further investigation.  I had a hard time getting specs for pilot screw adjustment and needle adjustment.  I found that the pilot screw is suppose to be 1.5 turns, and the needle adjustment is suppose to be in 3rd slot.  The floats are set at 14.5mm, which is parralel with the flange on carb.  I noticed that the slide on carb #2 is open a little further than carb's 1,3 and 4.  #2 has the pump on it.  Is there a way to adjust #2 to match the other carbs and now that I have carbs all put back together again do I have to take them apart to adjust the needle settings on the other carbs.  The main jet in the carb is a 105 and the last specs I found said it should be a 102.  I am not sure if the accelerator pump is working on #2 I still have to figure that out.

The jets are supposed to be 105's on the 77/78 carbs.  On the 76 carbs the jets are 102's.

Thanks for the info guys.  I should be able to get it fired up in another day or two.
