its one reason I don't fish much in the day time now... ;)
The other reasons being that with the lights out, nobody can bust your chops over that hat! And, they can't see you wiggle your little white worm? Since you avoid the sun and all, right Mick?  ;) ;D ;D ;D

Nah, everyone has them here mate, kinda like cowboy hats in Texas... ;)

Here's one I caught a couple of months back, Its a 67cm Flathead, got no idea how they got their name... :o ;D  They are a very tasty fish..

754...that really is a Brook. I wish it was a Dolly. That's one fish on my bucket list.

I'll share two more really special ones for me from the last few months.

First is this one. Sorry for the poor pics. I was alone (as usual) and shaking. Some call this an albino (but it is not) and some call it a golden. I've even heard them called banana trout. This is really a Palomino.

Then this one from a few weeks back. This is not a great picture. I have better ones on the other Mac in the garage. I'll grab another one later. This is an Arctic Grayling.

Grayling is also known as an artic char ..far as I know brrook and lake trout are also char..

I should have recognized the brook trout, but The main colour is darker green than the ones here.  We call them speckled trout as well as brook trout.(and I haven't caught one in a few decades)
We had them in  the creek that went through our yard, and fished for them all the time. In the summer the creek would get heavy growth of watercress. We would use grasshoppers as bait and the speckled would hit them hard.

That Brook from yesterday is very different looking. This is one I caught a few weeks ago about 70 miles west of my home.

The name thing is interesting. For me a Speckled Trout would be salt water or transition water with decent sized teeth but I have heard them called that before.

Nice Brookie  8)
My fav rod is my 1wt.  Lots of small creeks here with palm sized beauties.

Beautiful fish, Retro and riverfever.

Retro, you were rocking that long hair!  Let me take a wild guess and say you like or liked AC/DC!   ;)

I was in a band then Don, but i've always had long hair...  Scott,  had too cut it all off about 2 years back before having a skin cancer op on my head... >:(, its one reason I don't fish much in the day time now... ;)

Glad you made it through your bout with the C, Mick!

Another shot of the Grayling. Doesn't look like much here.

Until you see the dorsal fin spread.
