No, I stayed with the 40-hole on the front.  The rear 750 hub has 40 holes, too, so no choice to change it.  I'll be losing weight on the rims (steel being replaced with aluminum) and the brake rotors, so I will be losing rotating mass.

Doesn't look like it is going to see Glyptal in the cases and all the other candy some others put into a motor.
If it is assembled and not coming apart again he's likely to spay it assembled before moving to cylinder, head, and cover...
The cases casting often takes on a mottled look, just the nature of the alloy and technology of the day. The pout for a casting is pretty large contributing to the look.
MRieck has the billet cylinders but don't know if anyone will attempt billet or CNC cases. Imagine the cost of that motor!

The engine is going to be painted a VHT cast iron with metallic flecks (in assembled components).

Is it better to paint engine in fully assembled or disassembled stage ? And same question for sand blasting the old paint from engine?
Can you just clear coat the engine? Dose that kind of clear coat exist? I really love the texture/color and feel of the old semi/polished
aluminum. And I would like to keep that color somehow....

disassembled is "best" as you can be completely sure of getting it cleaned and painted/powder coated. Sand blasting is not recommended; its too coarse. Glass bead is better, but only if motor is completely disassembled and then THOROUGHLY rinsed/purged of media afterwards. Vapor Blasting/Wet Blasting is a highly desirable process, and it leaves a "peened" finish. You can choose any method to strip the cases to raw aluminum, but they are cast pieces. So to "polish" them is some work (vapor blast is great finish for this). You can then clear coat, or powder coat clear and leave them. Theres a thread from a member, Noblehops in "Services Offered" where he displays this process and before/after results.

Soda blasting will remove paint, vapor blasting may not. But you can follow soda blasting with vapor blasting for the peened finish. The result is beautiful!

The cases were hot dipped and scrubbed prior to reassembly of the bottom end.  They will be painted assembled.  The other engine component pieces will be cleaned and painted separately, as well.

I heard from Mike that my cam and hardweld rockers are about a week out from Megacycle!!  And the rear hub and brake are on their way from Bill Benton (coming Tuesday)!!   ;D

Galfer makes very nice stuff,  extremely high quality. Better if you don't have any gold on the bike or that you don't want the brakes to catch your eye.

Not sure how they compare to the EBC wave rotors. Galfer makes the Wave rotors and an upgraded Superbike rotor. I think these will be an improvement over used Suzuki GSXR rotors and give the bike a little pizzaz too.

I agree with riverfever that rotor is going to look great and perfm great.
Are you rebuilding the caliper?  Figure you are using the stock caliper.
