Which Plugs? 76 CB750k
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:42:12 AM »
Hi guys, I keep finding conflicting and vague info online about which current production spark plugs people are having the best luck with.

My bike is completely stock, has about 37k miles on it, and the carburetors are with Mike Nixon being rebuilt right now. I'm trying to get all my ducks in an a row for when they get returned.

Thanks!

I had to stop at 2 local parts stores, but I got myself a full set of 4.

I guess the only remaining question is, gap?

The other plug that gets talked about a fair bit is the Denso X24ES-U (non resistor) or the X24ESR-U (resistor) I switched a CB450 to the denso's from NGK's and I am having much better luck with them. Something about the Heat ranges being about half a heat range hotter. lots of reading here on the forum if you want to get into it.

Ok, I'll try .8 MM

I hope I have good luck with these NGK plugs, but if not it's good to know there's another option to try. What's the difference between the ones with the resistor and without? (Besides one having a resistor, of course)

Thanks.

The resistor / resistance can be in the plug wire, plug cap, or spark plug.

-With stock coils your resistors are in the plug caps. use a non resistor plug D8EA or X24ES-U  as originally specified
-Dyna or similar setup and are running there copper wires. The plug caps have no resistance so you should switch to a DR8EA or X24ESR-U
-Dyna or similar setup and are running there suppression core wires. The wires have resistance you probably should run D8EA or X24ES-U but i dont know what the resistance specs are on different wires
