Rim Strips and Tubes question
« on: October 26, 2006, 09:16:23 AM »
Hey guys!

So I'm going to buy the S11's for my 1974 CB750 (100/90/19 in front and 110/90/18 or maybe 120/90/18 in the rear, haven't decided) and am unsure what size tube or rim strips to get.

tiresunlimited.com has tubes and strips and was wondering if you guys can confirm my assumption on what size to get.

tubes: http://www.tiresunlimited.com/motorcycle_tubes.htm
I believe I should get the 325/350-19 TR-13 5194030 ($8.20) tube for my front tire, and the 400/450-18 TR-6 5185020 ($8.94)

Rim Strips: http://www.tiresunlimited.com/rim_strips.htm
I pretty much have no idea which size I need.

Also, do you need a tube with the S11's?  Are they tubless tires or do they require a tube?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;D

The tube sizes look fine.

If your rims are the stock sizes, buy the standard rim strips for a 19" and an 18" rim with center valves. (51820 and 51920)

If your rims are factory for a 1974, you will need tubes regardless as to whether the tires are tube type or tubeless.

thanks for the advice 750K4 ;)

I was just about to buy th goods when I noticed there is a selection of "stems" to pick.  I think this pretty much just confused me.  They offer:

"TR-6 stands for straight metal stem and TR-15 stands for "FAT" rubber stem"
Whats odd is that they include a TR13  but don't describe it.  Not sure which to get but I'm leaning towards the TR-6.  What do you guys think?
