Soooo... I completely disassembled my carbs to give them a full cleaning.  :D
I also broke the bank apart to really clean good.
Upon putting it back together, found these 2 "spacers" that I do not know where they came from.  :-\
I searched and scoured over several carb diagrams and could not find these listed anywheres... if they are, it wasnt obvious to me.  :o
What the hell are these and where the hell do they belong?
I am ALL READY to put the carbs back onto the bike, cept for these pesky thingys...

THANKS!

my only thought is that these go between the 2 banks of carbs, on either side of the spring plate?

They are spacers on the linkage.  There are four bolts and then 1 countersunk screw.  These are to prevent over tightening of the linkage bolts which will break it.

Harisuluv, Thanks!
Linkage...
The only linkage I know of is the choke, but there are no bolts there.
bolts and countersunk screw... sounds like the frame that all the carbs attach to?
Can you be more specific as to what linkage you speak of?

Did you also disassemble the rack (with the lifting fingers)?

I am sadly trapped in a motel room 3 States away from home right now, or I could maybe take a picture of one of the many racks I have at home and send it? Then you could see an assembled set, like Harrisluv is describing. It's mighty hard to describe, otherwise. :(

i don't have a stock photo of that part but yes the back plate.  at the pivot point there are only 3 bolts and 1 screwk that's it.  look at the lifters.  that part is the part that is clamped.

they go in the clamp area to prevent overtightening.

also:  if the whole backplate and lifter arms aren't still one piece and were seperated into different parts, then it's broken and you need to fix that too.
