Carb 1 and 2 rich success.
« on: July 28, 2015, 05:38:10 AM »
Hi everyone. First post. I have been lurking for awhile. Wanted to share my carb experience. I pulled, cleaned, and synced. 1 and 2 spark plugs were very dark compared to the others, but it ran great. Search after search revealed re-clean the carbs and everyone said they cleaned them very well and that can't be the problem. I spent more time looking for an answer than it did to pull them back off and re-clean them. When I pulled them again everything appeared clean I could see through the jets and carb cleaner seemed to go through all the passages. After putting it back together all the plugs were the same color after one short trip. I must have missed something somewhere. Clean your carbs!  The first time sucks, now a blindfold 10mm socket for the air box and a Phillips your home free. Sorry I'm for the long post.

Good job! And, welcome to group therapy! ;D

I see on your profile you are in MN. Where at? I lived in Carver & McLeod counties before moving back East. Some nice riding out there.

That's what some of us old timers keep preaching! Carb problems: Clean, clean, and clean again.

Hi. I have a CB500 four so was interested to know if your 750 has the same emulsion tubes and if you removed and cleaned those. If it does and you didnt take them out then I guess spraying carb cleaner up there may have cleaned the air holes?

When I had them apart the first time I had pulled the pressed in jets and cleaned them all out.  I even held them up the light to make sure you could see through them when I was done.
