Need help replacing points assembly grommet - 1975 400F
« on: August 06, 2015, 11:41:14 AM »
I cannot find a separate part number for the rubber grommet (see attachment) that is used to seal the points assembly area.  Anyone know of a specific sized grommet that will work as a replacement and where I can get one?  Thanks in advance!

The part is not available individually, only as part of the points plate assembly.
I measure the ID of the hole in the points mount and took it to the hardware store and found a suitable one.

Search for Rubber Grommets and see if you'll find a size that works.
Vulcanizing tape might be an alternative. Good to have in the toolbox.

Thanks for the replies.  Does anyone happen to have the ID and OD specs for this grommet?  Surely one of adequate size is available.  It would be easier if I had one in hand to take to the "grommet" store.

When I find a good fit, I will pick up a few in case anyone else is in need.
