Snake River Road near Riggins, ID - took a float trip for Steelhead one year, and on the shuttle back a semi had nosed-dived right off and into the river.  Motorists pulled the driver to safety.

They have some shady roads up towards Pine and Featherville Idaho also. Narrow as all get out and very steep dropoffs.

I have the clubfoot swingarm from Trey in the big box, a drilled discount and backing plate from Mono in another, and a Beauty polished Barnes hub in the other box ...and some parts from Rookster in my backpack... Will add a pic of the hub..
If any of you know Hwy 97,  it runs from Alaska to Mt Shasta  at Weed, California..
That is part of the original Hwy 97

Barnes hub weighs about 900 grams or two lbs, need to build the knockoff portions now.

...M119 north of Harbor Springs, MI.  ...about 12 miles of twisty, narrow, hump backed, blind cornered with sand in the road when you least expect it through the woods, then the edge of a bluff over L. Michigan, only real hairpins in all of Michigan, off camber nastiness...its total adrenaline buzz at 45 mph.  I have personally witnessed it take down 3 sohc4 riders, one of which was me!
If it works good, it looks good...

Spiral hiway is paved and two lanes...not too bad.. Fun road though..
I had thought push the bike backwards off to beside the cliff to let a car pass..he was from the flats ( Alberta) asked me if the road ever ends...lol.. I said yeah you are almost thru..
I should have photo ed the big holes and washed out parts and the big solid rock parts and lumps. Even on a bike you have to watch it..If I had been in a car..would have been hundreds of feet of backing up for one of us..

Reminds me of the "short cut" scenic route my wife said I should take while touring Cades Cove in the Smokey Mountain national park last month, imagine the dragons tail as a 1 lane gravel road with potholes and ruts, by the time I realized how bad it was I was already committed. I essentially went up a mountain and back down the other side, I swear it was the longest 15 miles I've ever ridden. Oh did I mention we were on my 83 Goldwing? I didn't dare take it out of first gear, if it wasn't for the fact that the gravel was hard packed we would've been in deep trouble because there was a lot of turns and switchbacks where 1 mistake meant going down as in 500 ft maybe 1000 ft down. I didn't take my hands off the bars at all and by the time we safely made it to asphalt my hands were numb. I took a vid to prove it but battery in camera was low so it only shows about 20 seconds of it.

Frank..........good thread...........I took a recent ride on my K3 in the Wind River Range east of Jackson, Wyoming............about 40 miles of rutted gravel.  I don't know about attempting to travel from Mt. Shasta to Alaska on Hwy 97 with a CB750............but it might be fun on my Aprilia Pegaso ;D  I would have a good send-off and return destination.........my daughter lives about 35 miles from Mt. Shasta ;)
