Cal, did you steal my calipers!
« on: August 07, 2015, 05:39:24 PM »
I swear to God I've been looking high and low for my calipers for a week now.  My shop could use a little organizing - but it's hardly the condition of, say, a woman's purse.  But those darn calipers are totally vanished gone.  I believe I have located every obscure socket, bolt, lost part I've ever come into contact with, but my calipers - nada.
I think my cat's hiding them so I'll stop working on the bike and play with him.

Play with your cat, it will enjoy it and you can relax a little.  Then maybe walk a beam or plank working on balance to relax your mind and tap into memory.  Or, play a game that requires planning ahead and physical movement coordinated...
Did you move them somewhere for measuring or paint or cleaning or polishing? Or were they calipers for measuring things?

You will find them eventually.

Were they rebuilt recently? (Former type)

Nothing like that - although I did sit down with the cat and let him give me a few more scars.

It was actually a very nice set, my fear is that I set them down on the transmission of the bike trying to get the air box clamp size and forgot about them and drove off.  But most likely they'll turn up tomorrow once I take a minute and clean up the workshop.

For me losing stuff in plain sight is the most irritating thing that can happen.

Sounds like you should trim the claws or invest in some Kevlar gloves to play with the cat.
If it is an outside cat, don't trim the claws,  defense and protection of the cat as well as ability to climb inhibited or reduced.
Your cat plays rough.
Need to teach it to not play with claws out, they can be trained, most of them are very intelligent.

Mean cars in EV's neighbourhood. They actually chew !! I blame Pixar, bestowing human qualities on machines.

I went to clean my mansion today, but for the life of me could not find my duster. Anyone here knows anything about that ??

I have to say guys - this has got to be one of the funnier posts I've written in a long while.

The original post had nothing to do with the person calj737, nothing at all.  When you assumed ownership I just didn't have the heart to break it to you.

As for the calipers, I found them 10 minutes later under a bag of headlight hardware that had slumped down over them.

So, is there a reward, in case they go missing again? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I don't know Mark, I've got a nice set of Mitotuyo calipers here that I can't account for? ;D

Ha ha, no, I found them here a couple of months before that box arrived Cal, but I've got 4 cats here and I don't trust any of them, so maybe they brought the calipers home? Anyway, I'm doing some more work on my sweet twin engined bicycle this weekend, so I'll probably need the calipers to measure something important......... ;D

Cal, did you take that too?

I actually scored an OEM from Silvers Spares but who knows these days, it very well could be of Chinese origin.

I lost a pair of crank pulley spacers for a small block chevy. Looked everywhere for a week. I gave up and bought more. The day they arrived, there were the lost ones hanging from an old CB antenna magnet on the outside of one of the cabinets I was looking in.
So if anyone needs some I have spares. Lets see, they were hanging right here,,,,

Cal gets around. ? !

WWII had the same thing with a fellow named, ________
Can you fill in the blank?
_______ was here.

It became comical, as GI would start putting the tag all over the place.

Cal, imagine the reward miles/points if you were flying all over the place to do these deeds. You would be able to have a nice vacation for two on those points in no time.
