79-81 DOHC cb750s
« on: August 17, 2015, 01:00:23 PM »
As I'm just finishing up with my 75 cb750K (just need to get it painted, will do over winter), I started looking for my next project.

Well, I found a deal and jumped on it.  Three basket case DOHC cb750s for $700. One is a sport model with mag wheels, engine in the frame and it's frame hacked/chopped without a title. The other two have titles, one a 79 and the other an 81 with a full vetter kit. One has the the engine apart, the other intact. The guy also threw in a color Clymer manual too.

The plan is to build one up for touring with the vetter kit, maybe do a cafe or something with the other and use the third for parts.

So can anyone suggest a good forum for DOHC cb750s?

The one with a blue frame I bet is a nitehawk. The rear wheel dont look right though.  I think http://www.cb750c.com/ is good for a site.  I joined a couple for awhile but then got to busy and decided just to stay here.

I am active at cb750c.com.  make sure to fill out your Sig page and read the rules prior.  They are awesome guys but use the search engine and fill out the Signiture portion before you start.  Like here, most questions have been answered

Thanks guys,
I came across that forum in my search.  I was unsure about it because cb750c usually refers to the Custom models and thought it was too specific and not for my K models.  Also, the forum doesn't let you see anything unless you are a member, so I wasn't sure about the content.

As for the mags on the blue framed bike.  That's the one I don't have the title for.  Even the number plate is gone.  The stamp is there on the neck, but I have to break out my reading glasses and a flashlight to read it and haven't done so yet.  I googled some pictures of DOHC cb750s and did not see those mags.  I think they are pretty cool looking and would look good on a cafe bike.
