K&N FILTER
« on: August 12, 2015, 05:39:07 PM »
Can anyone tell me where to purchase a K&N replacement air filter for my 74 cb550 stock air box. Tried pods because of the mounting simplicity but of course they were a pain to tune. Evan a part number would be great. Thanks for any help. Bike is running hard but always ready to improve.    Atlas

All else fails, buy some of these Uni foam filter sheets and make your own.  I prefer using the Uni foam filters over oiled gauze like K&N, Spectre, etc.  If you do this, you don't need to spend money on the pricey sticky Uni foam filter "oil".  Just get a can of regular cooking spray and use it.  Just make sure to rub the spray into the foam, let it sit for a few minutes, then tamp it down with a paper towel to remove any excess spray.  Works like a charm!
