Wheel Truing Question. Spoke thread Showing?

Hi All,

I recently laced my wheels according to the instructions found here in the FAQ and now I am about to true them up.

I have them pretty darn close to being in spec with all spokes being tight and plan to setup the dial indicator tonight

My one question  is related to the nipple/spoke interaction.Even though all spokes are tight, and "Ping" and ring about the same tone, Some of the spokes still show some thread outside of the nipple on the inside where as others do not.  To be clear, the thread that is showing is where the spoke connects to nipple and I don't mean they are all the way through.

Is this an issue? Should all spokes be threaded to a point that they do not show any thread?

Any  help or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Aftermarket spokes? Sounds like they just ran the thread die down too far.

Yeah they are aftermarket spokes.

However, as mentioned there are other spokes that have the thread of the spoke completely covered by the nipple.

I guess my worry is that the ones that are completely covered are tighter? Although, they all "ping" a very similar note.

I could measure how long the thread is if anyone has something to compare it to?

Anyone else?

Yoou'ld think they'd be the same. But maybe not. If you didn't hold them up to each other you can't know. But basically if the wheel trued up, then it is what it is.
