Topic: 1971 CB 750 seat latch

I just picked up a 1971 CB 750 with the engine in boxes and a rolling frame. A great project for the winter. Here's a problem. I cannot raise the seat. I have lubed the latch, which seems to be out of the way. The seat just won't lift. Its as if it were welded to the frame. What am I not understanding about this seat mechanism?

If it is OEM all you should need to do is pull back on the small handle south of the lock. Can you get us a pic to see just what you have there? Maybe it is not OEM...

On my k1 I have to pull latch and move other hook by hand maybe mine is broke

Thank you gentlemen for your responses. The 1971 K1 is the last year where there is no seat lock. I found this out on cb750expert.com. After seeing a photo, it all became very clear. A little lube in the right place did the trick. The best part: Lo and behold, there was the original tool kit in great condition.
