1977 CB550F installing Clip ons.
« on: August 14, 2015, 04:47:05 PM »
Hi, I'm new too all this. I have searched but cant find anything. How would I go about installing these clip ons I got on ebay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/151718732245?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

also is this where the air goes into the forks? can I remove the top triple tree off with the bike still standing and slip on the clip ons or do i have to lift up the front and hammer down the forks? whats the best and easiest way. Thank you!

Remove the top fork cap with the valve in it. Loosen the trip tree bolts holding the forks in. Twist said fork down until it clears the upper tree enough to slide your clip on onto the fork and reverse the steps from there. You''ll need to raise the front of the bike off the ground and support it.
Yes , that's where the air goes.
