I was encouraged to post some of my build pics here...and so here they are!
Being a complete newbie, I bought a 1975 CB750F basket case, stuck in gear, not charging, swiss cheese tank, non original parts, previously laid down bike. Now that I have gotten that off my chest. Here are a few of the mods:

F2 replacement tank
Ricks reg/rectifier
Handmade headlight bucket, seat and battery box
Replacement wiring harness
Integrated headlight
LED, carbon fiber handmade taillight complete with PITA formed lens
Sun rims with heavy-duty spokes (i do weigh 270lbs!) 18x3.15 front 18x3.75 rear
2008 Hyabusa shifter, master cylinder and brake lever
Fabricated rear set mounts
Cognito Moto top clamp
Tarrozi clipons
Handmade aluminum headlight bucket mount
Seat upholstery by Bobs Upholstery (Portland OR)
Relocated ignition switch to below tank
Exhaust is Carpy’s Dunstall 2 into 1
LED warning lights in headlight bucket, although I can barely see them
Orange paint is House of Color Tangerine Orange with serious metal flake
Frame is PPG Delfleet black

The rest is mostly tears, swear words, empty wallet and time. The fumes from the carbon fiber/fiberglass resin may have also shortened my life considerably as well.

And so it begins. Since I did a lousy job of taking in-progress pics, I'll mostly post stuff I fabricated or that seems unique to the bike.

Very nice bike.  It looks like it is partially inspired by Doctor D's (Dave Hiller) CB750 Super Sport -- a Twinline build.

Very much so. I have seen Doctor D's bike in person and it blows mine away in every respect. Those guys at Twinline are a notch above, no doubt about that.

....aaaaaaaaand what project post would be complete without some pod action!? believe it or not, these little homemade  air-boot-velocity stack thingy's I made work really well. No power fluctuations at speed (no matter where I move my knee), way easier starting (still scratching my head on that one) and a lot of oooopfh off idle, even with my fat ass on it. I plan on fabbing up some aluminum ones before these dissolve into the intake!

They help take turbulence out of the inflow to the carbs, I would be making them to equal the throat size of the carb though, rather than having them slide in as they appear in your pics... ;)

Great idea with the interior stacks!

Yes, Dave's bike is pretty amazing.  I met Dave and Tower a few years back and got to throw a leg over The Thorn.  Ian Halcott (who owned the shop and helped build Dave's bike, the Thorn and others) and I are pretty good friends, too.  He fabbed me a seat for my 750 similar to Dave's.



I REALLY like your taillight.  With all of those LEDs, it must be a BRIGHT sonofa#$%*!

I love all three of these bikes. I've seen that black one and Dr. Daves on YouTube. these F builds are my inspiration on my own 750F I am currently working on. I'm just a hack though.  No where near the quality of these. Nice work dudes.

FYI - my black 750 is a K model (1977) with a 1976 GL1000 front and a 1976 F gas tank.


Knowing what you want and don't want is important too. You can always enlist help from members and professional trades.

I should have noticed the drum brake..... I. So drawn to the shape of the F tank. Definitely my favorite. I WANT a lt of things. My problem is two fold. Money.... And I'm too damn impatient I want it all done yesterday. At least I have the satisfaction of doing it all myself. So far have only farmed out the leather upholstery, Ian Holcott did that for me. I need to get a build thread going soon.
