Fuel Gauge not working
«

Does anyone have any info on how to test the fuel gauge sending unit? My gauge doesn't seem to be working. i hooked it up and manually moved the float and dont get anything at the gauge. Not sure how to tell if its the gauge or the sending unit that is bad. Have never had the bike on the road how accurate is the fuel gauge, is it even worth replacing it?

Test the sender with a ohm-meter, empty X ohm and full Y ohm. Test the 7V regulator with a voltmeter, should be about 7 volt

Fill up, set your trip meter, ride til it's empty. Now you know how far you get on a tank. Just set your trip meter at each fill up or simply watch your odometer... all I do, and I only get 54 miles to a tank.

Thanks, thats what I do with every other bike I have, I just thought it would be cool to have it working. 54 miles per tank? that seems very low to me
