4 into 1 exhaust light rust should I do anything to it?

Got a black four into one exhaust on the cheap from a guy who supposedly used it for one season and there is a little rust inside.  Should I worry about cleaning it off or anything before I put it on the bike?  The outside looks excellent just not sure how much rust inside is normal.

Its nothing to worry about if the outside looks good go ahead and use it.

 You could slosh some rust converter around inside. It will turn the rust black but I'm not sure how it will react to the heat.

Nuts and bolts, tape the end, shake the piss outa it.
Coating it won't hurt they tend to corrode from the inside... Short rides are the death of exhausts..
