i knew he was very ill but it was awful to hear of his passing , i remember his crash at the north west and thinking this would be the end of his career in racing when it was actually just the beginning .
his work for Robert's as part of the evil empire is well documented but for me his best achievement was winning the title with jr on a suzuki that wasn't good enough to win a raffle , next to no help
and no spares . met him at ktm a few years ago and he had not changed at all , for me one of the best race engineers of all time . rip
