Canadian help
« on: October 11, 2006, 03:38:23 PM »
Hey, if I haven't completely pissed off all the Canadians.
I wonder if someone who has access to a Ottawa phone book would look for a name
or two for me. I want to find some folks I lost contact with about 20 years ago.
I've tried the internet white pages with no luck.

Sorry, I'm on the wrong side of the country, so cannot help. You certainly have not pissed me off!

Did you try white pages online for Ottawa?

Hey Nick, thanks for the Ottawa link. I think what I tried was yahoo or something in the past.
I'll give this a try.

I agree. It must be the long cold winters that do it!!

Hey Nick or David,
do you know the name of the Island off of Kingston smack in the Saint Lawrence.
There is an island I stayed on a bit in 1973, a farming island in the St. Lawrence and
I may be able to get a lead on some folks from there. I suspect they held on to the land, I hope!

OK, I know there are a 1000  :) but this is on the Canada side and you could see the US of the southern side which is
the side their farm was on.

LOL hehe, I knew I could sneak one in on ya :)

I finally found some maps on line that helped. Wolfe it may have been but now I'm beginning to suspect Amherst.
Because I don't remember it being as big as Wolfe. My memory was fogged a bit back then but I didn't inhale.

Probably be next spring and I might need some heavy duty

Be afraid; be very afraid. We've got our medieval ordnance and we're not afraid to use it.

Hey RM - make it a fall trip - you're a hunter, the new Hunting Guide is out and I see for this year (and probably next) there will be a season on polar bears for the southern part of the province, in fact, all the western provinces.  ;D  Archery, shotgun, or muzzleloader only around the cities though - thats the same.  Its been a long time since polar bears have been hunted here..

Shhhhh. Don't be giving away all of our secrets. We won't be able to keep the southern hordes away, fence or no fence!! And you know that it's slingshot or nothing around cities...

They make good throw rugs for in front of the fire. Bit expensive though.
