I've always been a GBP fan but this year I'll be watching the SF49ers with interest, Aussie rugby league convert Jared Hayne has got into the 49ers 53 man roster after just 4 practice games, he's never played American football until trying out with the 49ers, he's a very talented league player here and knocked back a multi million dollar deal here to try out for the NFL. Hope he does well...

I picked Pats to win but wanted Steelers if that makes any sense. No betting....just picking the winner. I'm a die hard Raider fan (been dying too much the past decade or so!). If I think they will lose I'll pick the other team but still root for my team. My hate for the Pats goes way back when that bad call took us out of the playoffs.

Yeah Mick...I don't watch much of the Niners but have heard enough about Hayne to spark my curiosity. I also consider the pack as my favorite NFC team.....been that way since the 80's

Most Aussies that play in the NFL are kickers from the Aussie AFL, a game based around kicking, Hayne is different, whilst he was never one of my favorite players, he is very talented, I'll watch with interest... ;)

The only pro game I ever went to was SF vs Seattle at home. Neither team was my school so I was just there but not enthused.

Yesterday was a good day for Sooner Magic.

I tried to find the game on the net but no dice, Saw the first few series of downs by each team at a restraunt.

Took a nap when I couldn't find it  online.  I was  close to the OU campus.

The whole neighborhood was full of watch parties, the  revelers woke me up.

Nice clip, thats also my team, I've followed them since i was about 6 years old.. ;D, Wrap..?  You mean strapping..?    Only for an injury and its not a requirement, those guys were underwear, shorts and a jersey.... :o ;)

Shoulder charging has been outlawed recently, once on the ground the defending side will hold on for as long as they can to slow the play, tool long and its a penalty, too short and you are helping the attack move at speed, does that make sense...?

Back in my day the shoulder charge was almost the ultimate tackle.  Followed by the get in low lift and drive head first into the ground ....
Having said that the blokes these days are fitter, stronger, bigger and faster.  32 years ago i use to get $1 a minute as a17 year old 100kg kid...
I honestly can say the modern game would be more than i could ever handle. No doubt about it...  these blokes are warriors.  When they get their head/face split open , they disappear for 5 minutes, stitched up and roaring to go..
In our day it was , game over. .. Shower time,  beers..
