Hmmm, I think the 550 was slightly smaller, the wheels certainly were, I could be wrong though, I'm chasing a sprocket carrier off a Z1000 P, wouldn't have one by any chance... ;)

nope not off hand i dont.  the gpz rear wheel i just aquired is an 18x2.15....same as the 78 comstar that was on my 750f.  i currently running the 16x3 off the 82 kz750....sprocket carrier looks like it might fit the 18, but i havent pulled the rear wheel to check the fit.  brake rotor will swap over if i drill some holes for 5 bolt pattern.   found a couple of websites that carry the same part number for the drive hub assembly, and one that sez they are different numbers.  i got all winter till spring to figure it out.

Matt, do you need an '82 550 carrier? I've got one in the shed. It seems to also fit on a 2.5 wheel of an unknown model Kawi.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

I MIGHT.  im going to go ahead and pull my 16 inch rear out of the bike this afternoon and see if the carrier i have will fit the 83 gpz550 wheel.  pretty sure 82-83 gpz shared the same wheel.......the one that looks like the normal kawa mags.  84 up i think switched to the funny looking tri spoke mags.

Go to motogrid.com. Look at the parts diagram and cross-reference the part#.
