Another Aussie
« on: September 12, 2015, 07:03:49 AM »
Hello all, this is my first post on the forum though I've been lurking here on and off for a couple of years. My name is Max ,Im old enough to have more sense and as the header suggests I'm from Australia. Currently I'm racing a CBR250rr and am in the process of getting one log booked for P6 250 historic with the intent of heading off to Phillip Island for next years Island Classic. The word is its a fantastic event so I put it on my bucket list. However 250's are off the point, my first road bike, a pretty blue 500 four I purchased used in the early 70's still resides in my shed, and I've decided it will be my next race bike.Mind you nothing on the scale of some of the builds seen on this forum just some thing to have a bit of fun with,,maybe ,,we'll see how it goes. The bike already has a Yoshi 600 kit and cam, the head has been opened up a bit and sucks through a set of stock 750 carbs then blows into a set of walker 4 into 1 headers. Ignition by Martek, Andrews coils and a few other bits I don't remember. So there it is,,something to start with at least,,when I can get it out and pull it down and see what needs doing, after which I'll probably have some questions to ask so thanks in advance     Max

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
