First off pretty darn happy to get this running!  Has run in who knows how many years.  Has good compression.  Got it timing on 1,4, but 2,3 is off the charts.

I can't do the plate trick to shove it up like the cb750, there is no slop between the points plate and the housing.  So it would have to be the points correct?

I have another points plate from a 400f engine I could throw on there if that will help.  Thinking the points just may be too wore out on 2,3?

Yes I greased the advance, and no have not set valve lash yet as the darn tappet covers are turbo welded on.

I always set the valves first, primarily because the engine has to be cold. If the rocker covers are worked, might as well get em off (and order new ones if they are stripped). If they won't come off you can tap the outside of the cover -- outside of the o-ring -- to break it and it will come off.

Likely points gap if 1-4 are good and 2-3 are way off. Some manuals say to gap them at the "T" mark, but if you notice they will likely open even more if you spin the crank. Find the widest point, and set your gap closer to .012" there.

But you should be able to rotate your points plate too.

We'll the stories are true Diahchi points suck!  The TEC OEM points are much better.  Just by taking the 2,3 subplate and installing it things alot better.  Got her so she will idle.

Tank is another story needs a couple more round of cleaning.  carbs 1,2 run out the overflow until I give them a tap, tap.

So I guess she's a runner!  Time to take off the fenders add clubmans, and a skateborad for a seat. ha,ha,ha
