Just about 1/2 hour ago my Grandfather was taken into surgery. The doctors are not optimistic. Anyone who has followed me and my posts knows that my Grandmother passed a few months ago. From what I know, he has given up and wants to dance with "his dance partner" I do not blame him. I would.

I just ask that those who do, pray for our family and for him.

The trip across country would be cool with my long lost uncle, but I am not sure I want to do it, not under these terms. This time WILL BE DONE ON TWO WHEELS NO MATTER WHAT.

Struggling here

May God bless you and your family, and give you strength.

If the worst comes to pass, feel sadness for your loss, but joy for his gain.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,

It appears that things are on the up for the moment. He pulled through ok for now. Telling bad jokes, and teasing the nurses.  ;D

Let's hope it stays that way. But when dealing with old people we never know the twists in the road. Thanks guys for all of your kind words and your prayers.

Meanwhile I will keep my eyes peeled for cheap air fares and maybe make a run out to tell him some bad jokes or tease him about those German girls or German motorcycles from WWII  that he rode 8)

I have lost all of my grandparents, my parents and only have one uncle and one aunt left. I now find myself coming to the front of a line that was full when I joined it. Of them all, my memories of my grandfather are the dearest and come to me often most probably because he worked to build those memories.

Time is short. Make sure you do it right the first time. Invest in memories because when the pain of the physical separation finally goes away, the person moves into your heart and being through the memories you built together.

For my birthday and Christmas, I always ask for my kids to do something with me that we will always have to remember. As they enter their adult years, it is more difficult but they know the value of their childhood memories because, like my grandfather, I have worked to build them.

Do whatever it takes and go now to build those memories. You will find Peace.
Time is short!

So,  how's he doing? Is he stable now? Just wondering what his condition is. I have lost my Mom, all my Grandparents, Some Aunts & Uncles. I'm progressively rising to the top of the family and
it's not a feeling I enjoy. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was enjoying them all and now a lot of them are gone. We definitely need to make the best of what we have, while we have it. Time IS short.

Well, if he likes tough babes and old German bikes, here's a good combo you can send him.  (my 2nd "wife" and first rig)

Seriously, though, I have seen it many times; when one goes, the other follows fairly soon.  They never leave you.

I pray that G-d give you all the clarity and strength to help Grandpa in whatever he needs; and that you all have more than enough love for each other.
