Until then, he has published simulated dyno runs of the Moment Cancelling engine, seeing a peak horsepower of 283 at 9,000 rpm, and a peak torque of 172 at 7,200 rpm.

Yes, I understand that.
Even if it is 83 HP off that is still pretty impressive for what appears to be a two cylinder engine.

im not quite sure what is new here , kawasaki's 1970's and 80's 250 gp bikes where like this as were suzuki rg 500's and the aprilia two stroke gp bikes all had counter rotating cranks as did many others .

The 1931 Ariel Square Four had counter-rotating crankshafts as well as overhead cams. ;)
