No, It's not another Oil (errrrrr) Popcorn Thread
« on: September 21, 2015, 01:53:24 PM »
Just looked at this ad in my email.
For anyone that uses or wants to try it out they are running a sale on it.

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5747/i/bel-ray-exl-mineral-4t-engine-oil

OH, there was a Coupon Code of PB-Belray5off for an additional 5% off.  :)

Hope somebody finds this useful/helpful  :)  :)

I remember a motorcycle oiltest in a Dutch motormagazine decades(!) ago. Mind you, the oils were only tested for pressure load and nothing else. It is a very simple test although I forgot the name of it. There was one oil where the testteam didn't succeed in stopping the shaft and that was Belray 10W-40. If my memory serves me well, it was the EXP 10W-40. But there are ofcourse other properties of oil that were not tested that are nevertheless important.
For those that master the German language, here are the results of a motorcycle oil test carried out in 2013 by the best motormagazine in the world MOTORRAD.

Google translate, just copy the text and paste into it...
No Red Line in test >:(

I guess that our old CB's have other need of oil than the modern engines. Like the flat tappet US engines that need zinc enough to not grind the cam/rockers/cam bearings.

I've been buying it off Amazon for $29 (4L) w/ free shipping.
This is about the same w/ shipping.  Its nice to have another vendor.

Oh, I forgot to mention that all oils tested were either 'gut' or 'sehr gut' and you can have a cheap very good one at Louis (Procycle).
