Rest In Piece my friend.
Even though we never met we interacted a bunch in our build threads and via PM. He even gave me some parts. The forks on my K4 build were donated by SOHC Digger, and he refused any payment for it. As a father of two young children myself I can only imagine how things are going for his family. Those poor kids. I am in shock and truly heartbroken over this. Its strange how connected you can feel to somebody you have never met.

Rest in Peace.   There is an epidemic of hit and run accidents these days.  The attitude seems to be try to get away and if you get caught later oh well.  It takes a real A-hole to leave someone laying in the street.

Many people are "taught" to leave the scene.  It is VERY common to have people run when they are drunk.
They figure if they run the ticket will be less then the DWI

Yes, it is best if anyone who cares to do so makes an individual contribution.

One request I've had of his family that someone might be able to help with is to gather up all his posts here so that they can be put into something like a memory book for his kids - at least his chopper build thread and anything else of significance.  I'll get to this in the coming week or two, but if there is anyone who has the time and the skills to put together something of a memorial from his posts, that would be really special.  Let me know if you can help.

In NY if you leave the scene of and accident in which someone is injured or killed it is a E felony. That can buy you some jail time in excess of a year, a permanent criminal record, and all the other downstream goodies that go with a felony conviction.

Not in our state, whether drunk or leaving the scene it's vehicular homicide either way!

I'm thousands of miles away, never met the guy and probably never would, but this hurts. Those poor kids. You can see from the photos that his relatives put up what a huge hole he will leave in his family's life. My heart goes out to them, so sad.
Rest in peace mate.
