Q's @ Buttoning up my '74 CB750
« on: September 24, 2015, 12:24:49 PM »
Hey guys, long-time listener first-time caller, I've been working on my first project, alongside my SOHC-4s aficionado dad, over a year now. Its got a real slick, kinda old Yoshi 4-2-1 that, come tomorrow, gets those #120 main jet upgrades - stock airbox, mind you - but i was wondering if I should go out today and pick up a set of NGK D7ES plugs?

i have somewhat old, but un-used & unfouled D8ES plugs on it already, and have cleaned all my carb jets but have severe lack of power on accel. 110 main jets in it right now, 120s arriving tomorrow, and advanced auto stores are showing me B7ES in stock, but not D7ES.  Are these identical? thanks!

Called NGK, Replacements for D7ES are D7EA. B7ES has different threads.

EDIT 2: Also, do I gotta drop my jet needle clip down one notch, as recommended in my performance upgrade chapter?

The STOCK plugs are D8EA, correct. My question was, with my jetted carbs from 105s to 120s & 4-2-1 exhaust, will the D7 plugs help/run better than D8s? gonna find out for myself I guess, will post back
