Just think how good Shakespeare could have expressed himself with emoticons... :)  Damn shame. :'(

Trying to be an optimist here, but it looks like he just built a standard hardtail frame and bolted the engine and forks to it.  Maybe no Vincents were harmed in the making of this TV show and the parts will find their way back to a proper frame.

I did not mean to turn this into a Hotch beatin thread. I like Hotch's stuff. But I say when beatings are due they are due.

Let the beatings begin  ;D

Does anyone have a make on the type of motor in the first bike?

It could be a Rotax motor with BRCs own piston, block and heads.

Not many companies that I know of make tandom twins. (Rotax and Kawasaki)

It would seem to be a much modified Rotax twin.

M, Rotax is a propriety motor maker, suplying motors for motorcycles go-carts airplanes ect.

Some engineering/tuning firms buy motors from Rotax then offer them for sale with their own modifications.

Crouser did it with TZ Yamahas, Mugen with Honda ect ect.

If you read through the info on the BRC web site, they are more or less telling you that they are Rotax.

JMHO.

Sorry Guys, i don't want to upset you all, but that Vincent is Fookin' awesome!
Check the detail, check the inspirational workmanship.

Yeah, i know it's a vincent engine, but i figure if you can afford to build the most unique v-twin into a killer custom - go for it.
AND - it's not a friggin Hardly Driveable! He could have used an Aussie Vincent replica - but where's the fun in that. Probably wanted to upset a few purists  :-* :)

I love bolt-perfect restorations too, don't get me wrong -ok
My CB750 K1 is going to be a bolt-perfect restoration - slowly getting a bunch of NOS parts together and i don't care if it takes 10 years, but that bike will be 100% orig.

I love Cafes, Customs, Choppers etc. too - so i'm impure! It's personal choice...
In a perfect world i would have my CB1300 "s" (awesome bike BTW) my 100% orig. CB750 K1, A cafe, A chopper, a wild custom... the list could go on forever... CBR1000, Z900, X4  :P

A bit of appreciation for a very talented man is in order

CB750 K1 - undergoing restoration (on hold)
CB750 K2 - Wanted - More time to work on her
CB1300S - the most awesome bike i've owned yet

Performance?
Function over Form?
What?

Why does Hoggley Doggley sell so many bikes?
The uninformed love the styling.

My Old Man would probably be rolling in his box seeing that Vincent.
He rode with Geoff Duke. Rode a Vincent way back when.

Yeah, i'm a Heathen. Honda oil courses thru my veins.

BTW - i love the 2 stroke too - The Dark Side!

Wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same.

I'd reckon most harleys are better performing than than that sad excuse for a bonneville salt flats racer (and i do mean racer in the loosest sense possible in this case).
It's great to make something look good, but for #$%*s sake, he made it SLOWER in every single way, for the sake of aesthetics (which are arbitrary at best), though ostensibly, these were designed to break some #$%*ing speed record on the flats. Only record he made is 'slowest, least ridable Vincent twin Ever'.

Grats, I guess....  :-\

Maybe he should have taken a few tips from an ancient Kiwi on an ancient Indian... except the styling  :)

I know it sounds totally vain, but for what he spent on that bike, I guarantee I could build a faster bike. It would also be better looking, imo. I mean, from what Ive read, he really didn't do much on the bike. The tank, and I'm sure, other, fabrication was done by other people. The engine was built by someone else. If I had those resources, we'd have a functional, fast, and imo opinion good looking bike. None of which his bike are, excepting good looking, and that's totally subjective.
Instead of going backwards in frame tech design, I'd move forward with the original greatness of the design.
I wouldn't butcher something like that in both the looks, and more importantly, function aspects of a vincent.
