Head gasket
« on: June 13, 2021, 08:45:15 AM »
Hello, I have reassembled the top end of my CB350F. Upon assembly, I reused the head gasket, but have now lost compression on all cylinders. Question is, could it be the old gasket leaking? should I have installed a new gasket? or is it ok to reuse the old?

You should always replace gaskets, but a used gasket is not likely the cause of 100% compression loss. More likely you have the cam timed 180* out.

Remove the tapper covers and double check your valve adjustments. I’d suspect they’re off.
The cam 180° out doesn't matter, that is either 1 or 4 at compression TDC.

each to their own - if the gasket isn't ancient and comes off clean without separating, I will always reuse it unless someone is offering to supply me oem gaskets free of charge?
The o rings are more important if you want to replace something as they hold the oil pressure in
