VTX1800......
I hate those bikes with a passion..
My buddy has a 2002 vtx1800 retro, and everytime we go riding the sound of his exhaust
makes me wanna puke...

Not mine, just found it on Craigslist.
Thanks Jeff !
Going to look at it this weekend !

Going out to look/acquire this coming Friday.
If it is everything he said it was - it will be mine.

Damn , you guys are harsh !
I can't get rid of the 750, I still have things to do to it !
Instead of giving the club my scoot, a donation has been made in the clubs name to the human fund.

The new project is gonna be a blast !

i think this is the biggest 450dohc forum:
http://groups.msn.com/HondaCB450DOHC/_whatsnew.msnw

one of the other members here has a CL450 that looks similar to your friends triumph:
http://www.geocities.com/fischervintagecycle/CLchopper.html

(the cl450 was basically a cb450 just with upswept pipes)

my 450 was more a traditional cafe:
http://groups.msn.com/mybikes/cb450.msnw

the full range of 450s is here (but the classic ones ended in 1974):
http://www.bikepics.com/honda/cb450/

here's some stats for the classic 450:
http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/090691/

good luck with the project  :)  i don't currently own any old hondas, but i'm real fond of them  ;D ;D ;D

   What about            cb450dohc.com?

i'm not having any luck getting into cb450dohc.com right now, but the last time i was there, the traffic was pretty light.

the msn.com site was the first dedicated 450dohc group.  the msn site is pretty low tech (eg. no word search), but it has a large active membership/message boards.

the 450.com site is a newer and better looking/functional site, with some common members, and might be expected to replace the msn group, but i don't think it worked out that way.

Well I found another CB450 in MUCH better shape for me to buy (Dragman Dennis has it), that I am going to pick up tomorrow night (Friday). The thing runs, looks killer, and it gonna bump this project along by a few months because i don't have to get the thing running before i start messing with it, as i would the 1st CB450 I found..

I am so excited and I just cant hide it ! 8)

Just thought you would like to know there are litterally hundreds of RACE parts available for the 500Twin.

I have a

SL350 motor,
CB 450 motor,
CJ360T motor,
and a GS 400 motor in house.

As you requested , the first pic of the new project ----->

That bike looks way too nice to "customise".  :o
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

My thoughts too. The ones I'm gonna build were picked up at a salvage and would take
quite a bit to get back to looking that good. If I were to do anything to that one, I'd keep it
to where it could be put back to original. Just my 2-cents worth and I say that cause the value
looks to be starting to go up on those. Might be something to keep in mind. ;)

I hear ya..
Due to the fact this bike is in such good shape, I am gonna just do a few small things to it and ride/enjoy it.
Mainly lower the hell outta it - some sorta cafe/bump seat, clip-on bars - exhaust- and other little things here & their. The factory tank is staying the way it is cause i love the color, pull the airfilter in place for some v-stakcs-etc..

Will post some better pics of it tomorrow in the Chicago sun (if it comes out)..

What would one expect to pay for a bike like that in that type of conditions?
