"Double" Shift Required, Neutral to First - Help!
« on: October 04, 2015, 07:06:31 PM »
My Honda CB750 K3 has been running great for a while now, but on a recent ride I noticed that about 30% of the time, when shifting from neutral to first, I'd need to actually shift the gear selector twice.  From neutral, I could hear and feel the clicking noise of the transmission engaging first gear (or so I thought), only to find when I attempted to go that the transmission was, in fact, still in neutral - only after a second "shift" did first gear engage.  Again, both times there were audible and obvious "clicks" as if the bike had engaged the gear - but the first time, it hadn't.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience working on transmissions and I don't know what the problem might be.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Clutch probably just needs to be adjusted.  Common problem really.
