AMA Pro Flat Track has officially arrived in Birmingham for the 11th Annual Barber Vintage Festival Presented by Triumph Dealers of North America at Barber Motorsports Park!

In the early 1970's there were a few dirt track machines built using three and four cylinder power units, both two and four strokes. This motorcycle was believed to be the only one to use the Honda CB750 motor, and was raced by National No. 31Z Rick Hocking.

Is it in the museum or an outdoor display Sam?

I cannot go, but anyone planning to, should stop by TimV's pit to say hi, he's racing #840. (small plug for my friend Tim!!)

Don't know Brent, part of the AMA Pro Flat Track display, I just picked it up of Facebook.

Well, maybe not the only Trackmaster framed dirt tracker ever made with a cb750 motor, but pretty cool regardless :D  The first photo below appears to be Rick Hocking's 31z that is on display at Barber.

My buddy's friend went to Barber and said it was 75% Hondas.

Does anyone know what kind of special alternator he's running on that bike?  It has a much smaller profile, but I'm not sure what kind of output it has.  I'm wondering if it's similar to Ander's beefier charging system.

It's a Yoshimura racing magneto, powered the ignition. The cover was magnesium. Cover & all sold for around $300.  8)

The Hocking bike far as I know had the crank cut off, and a tiny seal plate..no cover..
They must have blocked the lower oil windows off..they said ground clearance hampered them as you can see in the B/W pic..

I think i saw the M3 bike putting around around the paddock but only once. I did take a bunch of close up pics of the other one. It was kind of hidden!
WhenI get a chance I will post them up.
