Noob in Iowa
« on: October 31, 2006, 05:50:53 PM »
Howdy all... I've been on here a few other times and thought it was time to join in on the fun. I'm a regular at The Spirit World, so if anybody has been there you may already know me. Anyway enough of the BS.... I ride a '99 ACE 750 a '01 Spirit 750 and the latest edition is a '78 CB550.

I pulled the CB out of a barn a couple weeks ago after a short 10 years of storage. Well storage isn't quite the right word. "Storage" implies it was prepared for long term storage. This thing still has fuel (or at least something that resembles fuel) in the tank and carbs. I pulled the carbs a couple days ago and couldn't even recognise the main jet through all of the varnish and gunk!

I'm sure I'll be asking all sorts of noob type questions while I work out the bugs with this one.

The fairing reminds me of the ones I used to see on '60s Brit commuter bikes. Cool!

You won't get rid of it that easily. ;)
